At Katherine High School their is a total of 6 classroom laboratories.  Each comes with all the equipment you would come to expect from a modern secondary school science classroom. Gas taps, water taps and electricity outlets form part of the essential classroom laboratory at Katherine High.  In addition each lab comes with a fume cupboard and also master switches to control both the electricity and gas flow to student work stations. 

As safety is paramount fire blankets, wash down
stations and fire extinguishers are a staple feature
in every laboratory.  Appropriate storage space and
room to undertake experiments enables students to
work in an environment that is uncluttered and safe.

The science preparation room is staffed by an
experienced laboratory technician who oversees the
legal distribution of chemicals, substances and
equipment to students undertaking practicals in science.
