The School Council provides a meaningful way for parents/ carers and any interested members of the whole school community to articulate and inspire the overall school direction, it’s core values, it’s management and its leadership.

Meeting Dates
School Council Meetings are routinely held at 7pm in the conference room or school library on the 3rd Wednesday of every month during school terms, and is open to all interested people in the school community. Dates and times are advertised on the school website and in the school newsletters.
All parents and carers are invited to attend and actively participate.

Highlights of recent School Council decisions

• Recommencing and reinvigorating the year group camps after several years break.
• Stressing the importance of the school uniform policy so that we can all be proud of the school colours and the sense that we are a consistent community. The uniform will be compulsory for all year levels next year, 2011
• Updating the Behaviour management Policy with an emphasis on Anti bullying and the means to deal with harassment
• A review of the Constitution
• Upgrading access to school information through electronic media
• Upgrading the Katherine High School newsletter
• Strategic planning meetings involving the wider community
